Accessibility Guide

Before visiting us
• We welcome enquiries and reservations by phone or email.
• If you require a taxi to the hotel from Ashchurch Station (20 minute drive), Bristol or Birmingham Airports (both 1 hour drive) we’d be delighted to book this on your behalf. If you require a vehicle suitable for wheelchairs, we can of course arrange this also.
• Directions to the hotel can be found on our website.

When you get here
• We have a designated accessible parking area at the front of the hotel, along with ample additional free car parking.
• Entrance to the hotel reception is by way of two steps, and we have a movable ramp that can be used for wheelchair access.
• The internal access to the main bedroom wing is via several sets of steps, which make it difficult for wheelchair access, but bedrooms can also be accessed externally, with just one step (or a movable ramp) at a separate bedroom entrance.
• We are more than happy to help you with your luggage and will collect it from your car and deliver it to your room if preferred.

Reception area
• Floor is vinyl and suitable for wheelchairs.
• Our reception desks are at standard desk height and the reception area is all on one level.

Public areas

• Our piano lounge has a vinyl floor and is accessed directly from reception, with a single step that can be ramped and has a handrail on one side. It has a range of seating, including armchairs and wooden benches.
• The main hotel gents’ and ladies’ loos are on the same level as the piano lounge, with the accessible toilet in a separate area, next to our Cotswolds Suite.
• Our cocktail bar is elevated from the hotel reception and entrance, and is accessed via four steps with handrails on each side. The cocktail bar leads directly through to the lounge area, which is carpeted and on the same level. Here there is a mixture of armchairs and sofas, with stone-topped tables.
• The Orangery section of our restaurant has a vinyl floor and is accessed via two steps leading down from the main lounge area. There is a mixture of fixed seating and movable chairs without arms.
• Our Mint Restaurant is accessed via five carpeted steps leading from our piano lounge, with handrails on both sides. We have a mixture of movable seating and tables.
• We offer table service in all of our lounge and restaurant areas, but guests are welcome to order drinks at the bar, should they wish.
• All public areas are well-lit and doors are held open during the daytime. Our corridors are carpeted.

Loos

Our accessible loo is situated on the ground floor in the Cotswolds Suite area of the hotel. This is easily accessible from the front of the hotel via a separate entrance door without any steps.
• The fire alarm system is bells and does not have flashing lights. Assistance is given if evacuation is necessary.

Accommodation
• Many rooms are located on the ground floor, with ramped access, but these are not in the main house.
• We do not have adapted bathrooms and grab rails are not in the bedrooms as standard, however if required and with prior notice we can of course make grab rails available.
• For any guests with a hearing impairment, we have vibrating pillows which can be provided on request and with prior notice.
