Aqueous Ozone Generator
The Smartest Way To Clean - Simple, Safe, Sustainable
Recognising the need for even more frequent cleaning and sanitisation of our resort, we decided to investigate options to achieve the high standards we set, whilst also being kind to the planet and ensuring the health and safety of both our guests and our team. During these investigations, we made the lucky discovery of stabilised aqueous ozone cleaning, which will be used throughout our resort once we're able to get up and running again.
The Science of Stabilised Aqueous Ozone Cleaning:
Developed and trademarked in Canada, the aqueous ozone generator creates Stabilized Aqueous Ozone (SAO) by taking oxygen (O2) from the air and safely turning it into O3, which is then infused into ordinary cold tap water. SAO is attracted to germs, soils and bacteria and quickly eliminates them. For general purpose cleaning, SAO cleans for days and safely reverts back to water and oxygen (O2).
Eliminating Viruses:
On 20th April 2020, the manufacturer Tersano wrote:
“In our most recent testing, the SAO solution was tested against an approved surrogate for SARS-CoV-2, which is the Coronavirus/MHV-3. MHV-3 (Murine coronavirus/Murine Hepatitis Virus) is one of the approved surrogates as it belongs to the same Genus (Betacoronavirus) as SARS (SARS-CoV), MERS (MERS-CoV) and COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). While testing against MHV-3, the lab also tested against influenza A Virus (H1N1), Measles Virus and Syncytial Respiratory Virus.
We are pleased to announce that Tersano’s SAO solution was effective in eliminating >99.99% (>4-log) of all four (4) enveloped viruses with a one-minute dwell time.”
Safe & Harmless:
Each day, our team will each collect a bottle of freshly-produced SAO for use on all surfaces throughout our resort. Using microfibre cloths, we’ll clean and sanitise all surfaces with special attention given to sanitising handles, buttons, handrails, switches and doorknobs.
Best of all, there are no toxins, carcinogens or chemical residue as SAO converts safely back to tap water and oxygen. It’s completely safe to use.
Kind To The Environment Too:
By using SAO, we’re doing our bit to help save millions of litres of toxic chemicals from being washed into our drains. SAO is compliant in Europe to CE and EN 60335-1/A2:2006, making it a safe to use household product. When we investigated SAO, we were staggered at just how many chemicals we were using and SAO will help cut out excess waste, meet our environmental responsibilities, reduce packaging waste and reduce our company carbon footprint.
SAO is being used more and more, particularly across North America, in hotels, hospitals, schools, universities, restaurants, airports, retail stores, manufacturing and food producers.
